GOODY TWO SHOES: Nobel Peace Prize Winner “Would Love To Kill George Bush”

The Australian reports that during a speech to schoolchildren attending the Earth Dialogues forum in Brisbane, Nobel peace laureate Betty Williams, 64, said:

“I have a very hard time with this word ‘non-violence', because I don't believe that I am non-violent. Right now, I would love to kill George Bush.”

Ms Williams was awarded the Peace Prize in 1976 for circulating a petition to end violence in Northern Ireland, which became the catalyst for tens of thousands of Protestant and Catholic women to join together in protest marches. The Nobel Peace Prize was also awarded to unrepentant terrorist Yasser Arafat in 1994.

According to §10 of the Nobel Foundation Statutes once the prize is awarded, it cannot be rescinded:

No appeals may be made against the decision of a prize-awarding body with regard to the award of a prize.

Proposals received for the award of a prize, and investigations and opinions concerning the award of a prize, may not be divulged. Should divergent opinions have been expressed in connection with the decision of a prize-awarding body concerning the award of a prize, this may not be included in the record or otherwise divulged.

The Stiletto would like to note that Mahatma Gandhi was never awarded the Peace Prize, despite having been nominated several times.
