NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: At Least He Didn’t Try To Hold Up A Bank With A “Gub”

County jail inmate Donald Ray Bilby, 30, pleaded guilty to one count of false information and hoaxes in U.S. District Court in Trenton for mailing five letters to the FBI and Secret Service that included a harmless white powder he claimed was anthrax, and a demand that $20,000 be deposited in his inmate account. The FBI, which has yet to figure out who sent anthrax-laden letters to then-Senator Tom Daschle and others in 2001, was able to crack this case rather easily. Bilby helpfully signed the notes with his full name and included his inmate number, no doubt to ensure the money - which he needed to make bail – would be deposited into his account without a hitch. He faces a maximum of five more years behind bars after he’s done his time for auto theft.
