GOODY TWO SHOES: Wind Farms Good For The Environment – But Bad For Property Values

The Associated Press
reports that those LL Bean-wearing, granola crunching, lefties in Vermont love the environment so much that they prefer to use nuclear power and greenhouse-gas producing fossil fuels to heat and cool their homes instead of wind power - a clean, renewable source of energy. Global warming, air pollution and nuclear waste are piddling issues compared to how "400-foot tall windmills sprouting from the tops of picturesque mountains" will spoil the view. Some 30 states – including Vermont - have wind farms that generate enough power to sell commercially, says trade group American Wind Energy Association. Eleven turbines have been operating in Searsburg since 1997, and the wind farm’s owner wants to add up to 30 more – if the town will let him.

The Stiletto notes that wind farms seem to be welcome in flyover country, but any picturesque place where libs congregate – Cape Cod comes to mind - is fighting the turbines tooth and claw. When libs talk about "ruining the view" what they really mean is "ruining the value of my property."
