GOODY TWO SHOES: Dem Operative Fights George Allen’s Alleged Racism With Actual Anti-Semitism


Meryl Ibis, a volunteer field organizer for Democratic congressional candidate Al Weed, who is running against Rep. Virgil H. Goode Jr. (R-Va.), sent an E-mail last week asking supporters to protest "George 'Macacawitz' Allen" at a Republican rally. The Washington Post helpfully explains that, "the term ‘Macacawitz’ is an apparent reference to Allen's use of the word ‘macaca’ and the recent discovery that he has Jewish heritage." Although Ibis resigned from Weed’s campaign – as well as from James Webb’s campaign, where she also volunteered her "services" – neither candidate censured her.
