NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: A Match Made In Hell

In 2003, a 12-year old student at JHS 259 in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, confided that she had a crush on a particular boy to her teacher, Lisa Schmude, 30. Schmude took the girl to an empty classroom where the boy was waiting and told the two to kiss. Two years later, the teacher asked the boy if he remembered the girl. He did, and wanted to see her again, so another rendezvous was arranged. The boy boasted about shooting another kid – and the girl suspected that the other kid was her brother. The star-crossed love story ends with the boy convicted of first-degree robbery and sentenced to 10 years in a juvenile facility, and Schmude removed from the classroom and assigned to desk duty.
