WHAT A HEEL!: Runaway Bride Sues Ex-Fiancé

"Runaway Bride" Jennifer Wilbanks, who famously faked her own kidnapping and crisscrossed the country incognito for three days right before her nuptials, is suing former fiancé John Mason for $500,000. She contends that half the amount she is seeking is her share of a home Mason purchased with proceeds from $500,000 he received after selling their story to an agent. Wilbanks also alleges that Mason abused the power of attorney she granted for him to handle their finances, and is demanding an additional $250,000 in punitive damages, according to Atlanta FOX TV station WAGA. But wait, she’s not done. She also claims she is owed money that had been earmarked for the couple's honeymoon, as well as her share of the wedding gifts the couple had received.

The Stiletto thinks Mason should countersue for breach of marriage promise, with compensatory damages based on "injury to the feelings and health of the plaintiff as well as to his or her reputation." Or, he should just give her the money and thank his lucky stars he got off relatively cheap.
