WHAT A HEEL!: Motorist Was Blue When Firefighter Saw Red
Volunteer firefighter Kevin G. Hutchins, 44, of Palo, IA, has been ordered to take an anger management class for using his vehicle’s blue emergency lights to pull over an Iowa City motorist after she made what he considered an improper lane change. Only law enforcement officers have the authority to stop drivers, and Hutchins pleaded guilty to impersonating a public official and afterward was placed on one year of probation. In addition to the class, he is required to perform 50 hours of community service and write an apology to the woman he pulled over.
