NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: Bet Dad Wishes He’d Named Son After Someone Else
Calvin E. Fluckes Jr., 21, couldn’t possibly have missed the 40 marked squad cars in the parking lot at a Wal-Mart in the suburban Detroit area. And surely he must have spotted the 80 police officers in practically every aisle of the store for the annual "Shop with a Cop" charity event. And yet, he tried to pass an obviously counterfeit check to a store clerk, whose manager alerted one of the cops. Fluckes was arraigned on one count of uttering and publishing and could be sentenced to as many as 14 years in prison, if convicted.
