Bennington, VT, police are trying a novel method to remind people not to drive if they’ve had one too many: They are giving away 200 pint glasses with police department logos on them at seven taverns and restaurants around town, reports The New York Times (registration required). from the police will come with your Pilsner. “It’s about alcohol awareness, trying to get people to drink responsibly and not drink and drive,” a police department spokesperson tells the paper. “When they see the police logo, maybe they’ll stop and think.” The Stiletto thinks the cops in NH should consider trying this approach.
