WHAT HEELS!: Gym Teachers Gave Students’ Wallets A Workout
Former gym teacher Tamara Tootle pleaded no contest to six felony counts of third-degree bribery for allowing students at Ernest Ward Middle School in Pensacola, FL, to skip gym class in exchange for $1. She was sentenced to three years probation and will voluntarily surrender her Florida Education Certification and perform 300 hours of community service. Another gym teacher, Terence Braxton, had pleaded guilty in May to the same charges, and was also sentenced to three years probation; his state teaching certificate was revoked.
