WHAT HEELS!: Florida Pair Perform Phony Funerals

Unemployed funeral home worker John Peffer, 38, was arrested on charges of using the title of a funeral director without a license, grand theft and obtaining property by fraud, for allegedly arranging two bogus burials and two counterfeit cremations for which he was paid over $22,000 by grieving families. He reportedly carried coffins in the back of an SUV and had his girlfriend pose as a pastor to conduct a graveside service. As of this writing, The Stiletto doesn’t know what, if any, charges may be brought against the Peffer’s girlfriend.
