NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: Tattoo Artist Needs Poofreader

On April 1, 2005 mechanic Michael Duplessis, 40, went to Jade Dragon Tattoo & Body Piercing to get a tattoo of the John Hancock Center and the words "CHI-TOWN" emblazoned on his chest. But the joke was on him: Artist Sam Hacker made a typo, inking "CHI-TONW" instead of "CHI-TOWN." As a result, Duplessis suffered "emotional distress from public ridicule" and "loss of self-esteem and psychological pain," according to a lawsuit filed against the tattoo parlor, the artist and a third defendant. The suit also claims that Duplessis "endured pain and suffering" from a procedure to fix the misspelled tattoo" and that he "will continue to be injured and disfigured and to suffer in the future."

Duplessis is the child of a baby boomer, no? Check the WSJ for myriad articles about new workers with poor self-esteem from being praised too much.
