GOODY TWO SHOES: It’s Only A Slur When Ann Coulter Says It

Media critic Jon Friedman calls Ann Coulter "the Paris Hilton of political coverage" because "Hilton will do anything to … burnish her hard-earned rep as America's most outrageous party girl. Likewise, Coulter will do anything to enhance her dubious image as America's most outrageous pundit."

Fair enough. But compare the feeding frenzy following Coulter’s joke with the silence following this use of "faggot" on the BlackNewsWeekly Web site by a "satirist" named Sinclere Lee:

I would like to give some penitentiary advice to former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby … like I gave faggot Karl Rove (emphasis, The Stiletto’s).

This is followed by a paragraph that not only uses the "N" word, but includes several sophomoric references to homosexual rape (emphasis, The Stiletto’s; spelling and grammatical errors left intact):

First, don’t take candy, cigarettes, or candy from a big Black nigger named Killer. Don’t fool with that Killer! Secondly, don’t get the cell with a known booty bandit. Thirdly, if you are in the shower with a bunch of lifers, and someone yells out "hay dog bend over and pick-up my soap… don’t do that! Finally, drop the nick name ‘Scooter’ when you get to the joint. Them boys behind bars might get the wrong idea about that and think you want them to scoot up in your backside,,, so, drop the name Scooter and you can serve you time in peace.

By their silence, The Stiletto can only conclude that GLAAD, Howard Dean and others who swiftly and loudly condemned Coulter approve of using the word "faggot" when the target is a Republican – or when the person using it isn’t a white woman with blue eyes and long blonde hair.

Taking a page from Dean’s playbook, The Stiletto calls upon all declared and potential Dem candidates to denounce BlackNewsWeekly and Lee for using an anti-gay epithet to smear Rove, as well as for all the Libby bufu references.
