WHAT A HEEL!: Middle School Teacher Has Students Read Explicit “Sex Education” Material Aloud In Class
Scott Groff, 27, forced 8th graders in his suburban Chicago class to read explicit material about oral sex and masturbation aloud in front of their classmates as part of a two-day sex-education lesson. The Chicago Tribune reports:
"My daughter brought it to our attention because she was disgusted with it," said Grady Braley, father of a Wolcott 14-year-old. "There's certain things at her age they need to know. But this was a how-to manual."
"It's creepy, and I'd like to know why he's still teaching."
Braley's daughter, Sandi, said she objected to the lesson, but the teacher told her it was part of the school's "human sexuality" curriculum.
"I just felt really uncomfortable talking about this in a class with boys and girls," Sandi Braley said. "I was like, 'Mr. Groff, why do we need to learn this?' He just looked at me and said, 'Calm down, calm down.'" …
Stephan Harman [the principal at Wolcott School] said the teacher "made a serious mistake in judgment" and admitted that "he didn't read [the sex education material downloaded from a Web site] thoroughly enough." …
Harman said he doesn't know why Groff didn't stop the lesson immediately after realizing the graphic content.
"This is not Porn 101. This is a school," said [a] mom … "This is putting girls and boys in harm's way. It's almost voyeurism."
Creepy … porn … voyeurism. Yeah, that pretty much describes this disturbing, demeaning health ed lesson. "A serious mistake in judgement" kinda pales in comparison.
