WHAT A HEEL!: Guard Smites Inmate With The Word Of G-d
Jail guard James Lee Sheppard, 56, has been charged with two gross misdemeanors for allegedly grabbing Jeremy Hansen, 26, an inmate at the Blue Earth County Jail, by the throat, slamming him against the bars of his cell and then hitting him upside the head with a bible. Much of the confrontation was caught on surveillance video, and the guard reported the incident himself. Sheppard, who is on leave while the matter is being investigated, is scheduled to appear in before a judge April 26 on charges of mistreatment of an inmate and misconduct by a public officer.
