NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: Fool Me Twice, Shame On Me

York Heiden, of Stevens Point (WI), had his 1990 Audi Quattro stolen when his wife left the keys in the car while grocery shopping. Heiden enlisted the aid of his friends, who soon found the car, but without the keys. Heiden, who owns a car repair shop, instructed one friend to disable the car's ignition system by removing a coil wire. When he got to the location where the car had been found with a spare key, the car had been stolen - again. It seems he forgot that his car had a two-coil system and could still be driven. Police later found the car nearby, a little worse for the misadventure but still serviceable.
