WHAT A HEEL!: Give A Dog A Bone
William Winters, 31, of Mastic, NY, was arrested and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals for allegedly starving his 3-year-old cocker spaniel, Bailey, and taking the dog to an animal shelter claiming that it was a stray. Bailey, down to just 19 pounds, "couldn't walk, couldn't lift its head, couldn't do anything," Brookhaven Animal Shelter director Charlie McGinley tells The Associated Press. Bailey has gained 17 pounds and will soon be put up for adoption. Winters faces up to four years in prison, if convicted.
