NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: Lawnmower Driver Should Have Cut The Grass

Peggy Sue Phillips, 48, lives very close to First Security Bank in Mountain Home – right across Highway 62. Wanting to check her balance on the bank’s ATM one night last week, she crossed the road on a lawn mower with no headlight, and was struck by a car. Fortunately, no one required medical treatment. A police officer at the scene of the accident noticed that Phillips’ speech was slurred and that she was unsteady on her feet so he took her to the stationhouse for a sobriety test, which she passed. The officer searched Phillips, and found prescription narcotics, a small quantity of grass and rolling paper, according to his report. Phillips is facing charges of driving with a suspended or revoked license, driving while intoxicated, careless driving, possession of controlled substances and possession of an instrument of crime.
