    How many times can you kick a dog for pooping on the carpet? I sense the kid and each of their families would each like an opportunity to kick Nifong for his poopy mistake.

    They should be entitled to recoup on their legal fees from Nifong; however the dog was a middle class civil servant, meaning (unless he was a dirty prosecutor) his assets will come no where close to paying off the legal fees of the falsely accused. Those falsely accused may have to settle for criminal justice.

    No matter how sympathetic the Yahoo article tries to evoke, he did the crime and should pay some kind of time.
