WHAT A HEEL!: Express Checkout

The cashier must have been taking too long for his liking, because James Curcio, 45, lost his temper in the checkout line of the local Super Stop & Shop and rammed the 72-year-old woman in front of him with his shopping cart, knocking her down. The Poughquag, NY, man left the store with $85 of groceries in his cart, but fled in his car when store employees gave chase. The employees were able to give police a description of the car and its plate. Curcio then went to the Putnam County Hospital Center and claimed he was the victim of a robbery at the Stop & Shop. State troopers arrested him at the hospital on a felony assault charge and a misdemeanor larceny charge. The elderly woman was treated at Hudson Valley Hospital Center and released.
