WHAT A HEEL!: Trailer Trashed

Russell Tavares (AKA "PyroDice") and John G. Anderson (AKA "Johnny Darkness") got into an online battle of the nitwits on a photo-sharing Web site, during which digitally altered photos of each were posted. One of them depicted Tavares as "a skinny boy in high-water pants, holding a gun and a laptop under a ‘Revenge of the Nerds’ sign, reports The Associated Press. It was apparently too much for the weapons systems operator at the AEGIS Training and Readiness Center in Dahlgren, VA, to bear so he found out Anderson’s real name and address and drove the 1,300 miles to Elm Mott, TX, to teach him a lesson. He planned to shoot Anderson’s computer, but instead threw a piece of gasoline-soaked plastic foam into the back of his antagonist’s trailer and lit a flare, according to law enforcement authorities say. Anderson suffered smoke inhalation; the fire caused $50,000 in damage to his trailer and computer equipment. Tavares has been sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading no contest to arson and admitting he set the fire. Apparently, the feud between the two – which began in 2005 – persists to this day, with allies of Tavares continuing to harass Anderson in cyberspace and in the real world.
