WHAT A HEEL!: Traffic Court Clerk Fixes Own Tickets
Former Hennepin County (MN) traffic court clerk Dawn Michelle Nyberg, 32, has been charged with "dismissing, expunging or fobbing off on other unsuspecting motorists more than $5,000 worth of ticket fines and late fees between August 2005 and June," reports The Pioneer Press (Minneapolis-St. Paul). Nyberg, who had amassed 75 parking tickets during that period, paid two of the tickets when her scheme was discovered and resigned. Assistant Hennepin County Attorney Tom Fabel plans to prosecute her for two felonies - stealing public funds and forgery - and a misdemeanor count of "misconduct of a public officer."
