WHAT A HEEL!: Embezzling Priest Lived Double Life
Retired Roman Catholic priest Rodney L. Rodis, 51, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to federal mail fraud and money laundering charges for embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from two VA parishes. Prosecutors allege that he wired $515,231 of the money to the Philippines and supported a wife and their three children - who were stashed in a town 50 miles from the churches he served, reports The Associated Press. He could get as much as 40 years in prison when he is sentenced Feb 21, 2008.
