NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: Stapler Used In Stick-Up

Wearing a ski mask, Gerald A. Rocchi, 32, held up an ice cream store in Ashland, KY, with a chrome-plated stapler. Ashland Police Capt. Don Petrella tells The Associated Press that “he didn't know if Rocchi planned to shoot staples at the shop's employees or use it as a blunt instrument if he didn't get the cash.” The employees didn’t want to guess, what he planned to do with the desk accessory either, so they handed over $175. Several witnesses saw Rocchi leave, and when police caught up with him at his home they found cash, a ski mask and a stapler. Rocchi was charged with first-degree robbery.
