† Kerry’s Showboating Over Swiftboating (second item): John Kerry has finally come to the obvious conclusion that if anyone is swiftboating Barack Obama, it’s Bill Clinton. He tells the National Journal that, "I think you had an abuse of the truth … [B]eing an ex-president does not give you license to abuse the truth, and I think that over the last days it's been over the top. … "When somebody's coming on strong and they are growing, people get a little frantic, and I think people have seen this sort of franticness in the air, if you will."
† It’s War!: Remember when Hillary Clinton (NY) accused Barack Obama (IL) of accepting campaign contributions from indicted real estate developer Antoin Rezko, whom she called an inner city Chicago “slum landlord” in last week’s Dem debate in SC? For reasons she cannot now recall, Hillary and husband Bill once posed for a photo with that self-same Rezko. When she was asked about the photo - which was first posted on The Drudge Report - on NBC's "Today" show, Hillary said, "I probably have taken hundreds of thousands of pictures. I don't know the man. I wouldn't know him if he walked in the door." The photo makes it impossible for Hillary to hit Obama with Rezko again, political scientist Larry Sabato tells ABC News: "If you're going to attack your opponent for associating with a slumlord, you better make darn sure that you, yourself, have not associated with that slumlord. Her campaign has so many hundreds of staffers, and not one of them did some research to check into her and Rezko?"
The photo “opens the door for the best remaining shot that Obama has, which is to rekindle Clinton fatigue, and remind voters of all those controversies from the 90s involving the Clintons," adds Sabato, who is director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics.
† Hillary An Advocate For Parents And Children? Ha!: Yet more proof that Bill Clinton’s personal turpitude has corrupted the morals of our minor children: Students at Parkland High School near Allentown, PA, have been sending each other pornographic video and photos of two classmates via cell phone. The images have also been seen by students at another high school in Bethlehem, PA, and were posted on social networking site Facebook. One of the girls in the pictures is shown engaging in a sex act with a boy that The Associated Press did not specify in its reporting, and the other photographed and transmitted a photo of her bare breasts. Because the girls are underage, anyone who has or transmits the images is considered to be trafficking in child porn, according to District Attorney James B. Martin, whose office sent parents a letter that set a deadline by which students had to erase the images from their cell phones or face prosecution in juvenile court.
Meanwhile, Reuters reports that Bill Clinton has resumed his finger-wagging ways and notes that, “For Americans the finger-wagging recalled Clinton's similar gesture when on television he furiously denied accusations - later proved true - of his having had sex with White House intern Monica Lewinsky when he was president.”
