WHAT A HEEL!: Man Sues Because The Body Of The Teen He Fatally Struck Damaged His Car
Spanish businessman Tomas Delgado, who was driving his Audi A-8 113 kph (70 mph) on a rural road with a posted speed limit of 90 kph (55 mph) when he struck and killed 17-year-old Enaitz Iriondo Trinidad on his bicycle, had filed a lawsuit against the teen’s family asking for €20,000 ($29,400) to compensate him for damage to his luxury car. News of the suit created outrage throughout the country, and hundreds of people converged upon the courthouse in Haro, Spain, in solidarity with the boy's parents. When Delgado’s lawyer dropped the suit, the crowd broke into applause, reports CNN. Antonio Iriondo, the boy's father, told CNN his family is contemplating pursuing criminal charges in the case. One judge already ruled that Delgado had not committed a criminal infraction, but a prosecutor plans to re-open the case to determine whether new charges can be filed against Delgado.
