WHAT HEELS! Embezzling Elementary School Secretaries
Elementary school secretaries Karen Boucher and Renee Scriven, who worked for P.S. 132 in The Bronx, are accused of entering false transactions over a three year period from 2002 to 2005 to buy $200,000 worth of stuff or themselves with the school’s money, including cigarettes, clothing, a portable DVD player, a diamond ring and digital cameras, reports The Associated Press. Richard Condon, special commissioner of investigation for the city's school system, notes that the pair had "unbridled access to the school's finances," and is recommending that they be fired and make restitution. Condon has also referred the case to the Bronx district attorney's office.
