THE DAILY BLADE: Can Somebody Please Get Chris Matthews A Filter?
In a profile of “Hardball” anchor Chris Matthews, Washington Post media-critic-turned-political-pundit Howard Kurtz writes:
On his show, on the street, on the phone, on the party circuit, this 62-year-old refugee from Democratic politics wants to tell you what he thinks. Now. Right away. Not after the next commercial break. Not after the guest finishes talking. He blurts out what's on his mind, seemingly without a filter.
Here’s what Kurtz means by “without a filter”: Covering Barack Obama’s remarks after he swept the Potomac Primary on Tuesday, MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews let slip to viewers that, “I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don't have that too often.”
Um, thanks for sharing.
