WHAT A HEEL!: Health Care Provider Fakes Cancer
Physician's Assistant Bridget Tierney, 50, confided to friends and co-workers at the Stillwater Medical Group that she had breast cancer about a year ago. After the cancer had metastasized to her brain and her hair and eyebrows fell out, they raised several thousand dollars to help cover her medical costs and house payments, reports Pioneer Press (Minneapolis-St. Paul). But when Tierney was treated for severe back pain, doctors found no evidence that she had cancer. "It's mind-boggling. … People couldn't believe it was true because she seemed so ill. It was pretty elaborate. She certainly was very convincing in her portrayal, said Stillwater Medical Group president Charles Hipp in an interview with the paper. Stillwater Police Chief John Gannaway has opened a case file, but Tierney cannot be charged with a crime until a victim files a complaint.

I was a patient of Bridget Tierney's.

What was your experience with her? Did she tell you she was suffering from cancer? Did she exhibit symptoms of the disease or chemo side-effects?
