NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: Thief’s Crime Registers
A passing cyclist heard screams coming from a store, saw a man leave with a cash register cradled in his arms and followed the thief to a nearby apartment building, reports The (San Jose) Mercury News. Meanwhile, store employees had called 911 to report that they had been robbed at knifepoint. The cyclist circled back to the store to tell police what he had seen, and they went to the apartment building and arrested one Jose Alfredo Bonilla, 26, and later brought in his alleged accomplice Rocky Charles Martinez, 25. The article on which this post is based failed to include either man’s immigration status.
