WHAT HEELS!: Home Stripped Bare After Burglars Post Bogus Craigslist Ad
Amber Dawn Herbert, 28, and Brandon Dean Herbert, 29, of Medford, OR, allegedly posted an ad on Craigslist March 22nd inviting folks to cart off the belongings of contractor Robert Salisbury – including a horse – explaining that he had to leave town in a hurry, reports The Smoking Gun. Investigators say that unlike other similar Craigslist hoaxes this was not a malicious prank but was meant to cover the couple’s theft of horse saddles and other items when they had walked through Salisbury’s property, which was for rent. When he learned about the ad, Salisbury rushed home to find 30 people going through his belongings and loading up their vehicles; nearly everything he owned had been taken, reports The Associated Press. The Herberts were arrested on felony burglary, theft and computer crime charges.
