WHAT A HEEL!: Some People Just Know How To Fly
Compass Airlines flight attendant Eder Rojas, 19, confessed to setting a fire aboard a plane carrying 72 passengers and four crew members because he was upset with his supervisors for sticking him with the Minneapolis to Regina, Saskatchewan route, reports The Associated Press. The plane landed safely in Fargo, ND, after an indicator light alerted the cockpit that there was smoke in the rear bathroom roughly 35 minutes after takeoff. Dispatched to the bathroom check out the situation by the pilot, Rojas, another flight attendant and a passenger put the flames out with fire extinguishers. Compass, a subsidiary of Northwest Airlines has fired Rojas. He faces as much as 20 years in prison for setting fire aboard a civil aircraft.
