WHAT A HEEL!: Non-Performance Fleece
Daniel Arnold, 51, owner of D&D Medical in Aurora CO, got 10 years in jail on charges that included violating the Colorado Organized Crime Act, forgery and theft for bilking the state’s Medicaid system out of more than $1 million between 2000 and 2005, reports the Rocky Mountain News. D&D employee William Humphries was also sentenced to five years in prison. The pair, along with several other employees, “submitted a large number of fraudulent billings [on behalf of impoverished disabled people], receiving compensation for services that were never performed” and altered manufacturer invoices to jack up the amount his company would get reimbursed for new wheelchairs, parts and accessories.
