WHAT A HEEL!: Death Row Inmate: I’m Too Fat To Execute
Public Defender Kelly Culshaw Schneider has filed a federal lawsuit to stop OH from carrying out the death sentence imposed on client Richard Cooey for raping and murdering two women in 1986, on the grounds that at 5’ 7” and 267 pounds he is too fat for executioners to find his veins easily, reports The Associated Press. The suit also contends that Topamax, a medication Cooey is taking for migraine headache, could reduce the effectiveness of thiopental, which puts inmates to sleep before the lethal injection is administered.
Fine. Then the prison should cut Cooey’s rations in half so that he loses 8 pounds a month - that should bring him down to 250 pounds by October 14th, when he is scheduled to be executed - plus take him off Topamax immediately to ensure the thiopental can do its job. If his lawyer contends he is still too fat to execute by lethal injection, the state should do the job with a firing squad – Cooey will be too big a target to miss.

Too bad Ohio doesn't have firing squad - have utah handle the execution.
