WHAT A HEEL!: Tacoma Secretary Embezzles Tidy Sum
Lindy Robertson, a 28-year-old mother of two toddlers in Tacoma, WA, will be spending the next four years and nine months in prison for embezzling roughly $1.6 million from her employer to pay for clothes, TVs and home improvements, reports The Associated Press. Robertson, who had worked as an executive assistant to Milgard Manufacturing President James J. Sweeney since 2003, was charged with 28 counts of theft and money laundering; prosecutors say it ranked among “the largest embezzlement cases in Pierce County history.” Robertson has repaid the door and window manufacturer about $1.2 million.
