A 60-count federal indictment accuses Michael Griggs, owner of Denver-based Disaster Restoration, Inc. of habitually jacking up bills submitted to insurance companies for repairing property damage caused by fires, vandalism or water by 20 to 30 percent, reports Rocky Mountain News. The charges Griggs faces include conspiracy and mail fraud. If convicted of conspiracy, he could get five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, and as much as 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for mail fraud.Nine other employees of the company have also been indicted in the scheme.
