WHAT A HEEL: Eco-Terrorist Firebug Causes $5 Million In Property Damage
Marie Mason, 46, pleaded guilty to setting a New Year's Eve fire at Michigan State University in 1999, and admitted to being involved in 12 other eco-terrorist acts that, taken together, caused more than $5 million in property damage, reports The Associated Press. Three others - who, like Mason, were affiliated with Earth Liberation Front - have also pleaded guilty to charges related to the MSU arson, which was carried out to protest the university’s research on genetically modified plants. She could face a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
