ON THE CUTTING EDGE: You’re Never Too Young For Your First Pair Of Stilettos

Two Seattle-based mothers and childhood friends, Britta Bacon and Hayden Porter, are marketing crib shoes for baby girls 0-6 months with soft stiletto heels that collapse and fold under when the wearer stands (video). An elastic strap across the top of the foot and an elasticized heel secures the shoe so it can’t fall off. The Heelarious shoes come in a variety of styles, including hot pink patent leather, zebra print and leopard print and sell for $35. Before anyone starts tsktsking about sexualizing children, the shoes are more Minnie (Mouse) than Manolo.
