NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: Obama Campaign: Lindsay Lohan Is No Scarlett Johansson
While embracing Scarlett Johansson’s efforts to stump for Barack Obama, his campaign is keeping Lindsay Lohan at arms length. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that “trouble-prone actress” wanted to host several events for younger voters, but one of his campaign aides told the paper that she “is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us.” The snub didn’t sit too well with Lohan’s even more troubled father, Michael, who called the candidate out as a hypocrite: “For Barack Obama to condemn my daughter for past indiscretions when he admitted to the exact same himself is indicative of what kind of president he would be.”
For her part, Lohan pens this cri de coeur urging Americans to support Obama on her MySpace blog:
I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin.
I couldn't be more supportive of a woman in office, but let's face it, it comes down to the person, and their beliefs, male or female.
Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?
Lohan appears unaware that the answers to all her questions can be found in one book (she can use a keyword search to get straight to the bits on fornication and adultery should she be disinclined to read the rest). For the sake of her eternal soul, these are not the sorts of questions she should ask Nancy Pelosi.
