NOT THE SHARPEST KNIVES IN THE DRAWER: Wipe Out
A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report warns that “car surfing” – riding on the roof of a moving vehicle – caused 58 deaths and 41 nonfatal injuries since 1990, reports Reuters. The deaths, which resulted mostly from head trauma, occurred when surfers fell off cars driving at speeds ranging from 5 to 80 mph. The CDC report said that car surfing injuries or deaths were reported in 31 states, mainly in Midwestern and Southern states.
