NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: Every Vote Counts
Poll workers at an early-voting site in Albuquerque, NM, called police after a woman began screaming at them, reports Time magazine. When cops arrived on the scene, she passed out – seems, she had an open bottle of vodka stuck inside her waistband. Because the woman had not inserted her ballot into an electronic tabulator before losing consciousness, her vote has to be hand-counted. Bars and liquor stores are closed on Election Day in some states, and liquor sales are prohibited in NM while the polls are open. Having liquor at a voting site is against state law, but the woman has not been charged.
