† A Lie No One Should Be Repeating: Barack Obama’s supporters continue to do metaphorical violence to Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin has been hung in effigy from the roof of a home in West Hollywood, CA. The owner of the home, Chad Michael Morisette, tells CBS 2 News that the effigy is “within the spirit of Halloween” and “should be seen as art.”
A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department agrees, telling the Los Angeles Times that the effigy cannot be considered a hate crime because it is part of a Halloween display. It might not be a “hate crime” – because, as we all know, woman-hatred is not as serious as race-hatred – but it’s time for the FBI and Secret Service to treat incidents like this as potential death threats that need to be investigated, the same as a letter or E-mail. Why are the agencies charged with protecting the candidates acting as though Obama is the only one whose life may potentially be in danger?
Obamaniacs have repeatedly proven themselves to be a violent lot – in the latest incident, two Obama supporters entered a GOP campaign storefront in Galax, VA, shouted obscenities and maced five people - and all it takes for five children to become motherless is for one Obama supporter to cross the line between wishing Palin dead and making the wish come true.
And BTW: Wanna bet that there would be screaming headlines in The New York Times, The Washington Post and papers from coast-to-coast about racist McCain supporters “lynching” Obama had the effigy been of him instead of Palin. So, Susan Jacoby, are you equally “terrified” that Palin’s life may be in danger – or do you never “tremble for my country” when the rage is directed against a conservative? ‘Cause lady, if anything happens to this woman, you and other libs in the MSM who have been crying “racism” at every turn – even when you had to concoct phony death threats at a McCain-Palin rally - will be directly to blame.
† Is Obama’s Birth Certificate Fake? (second item): King County (WA) Superior Court Judge John Erlick judge has dismissed a lawsuit challenging Barack Obama's qualifications to be president on the grounds that the Dem nominee “may have been a citizen of his father's native Kenya, or became a citizen of Indonesia when he lived there as a boy,” reports The Seattle Times. Last week, U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick threw out a similar suit brought by attorney Philip J. Berg on the grounds that Berg “lacked standing to bring the case, saying any harm from an allegedly ineligible candidate was ‘too vague and its effects too attenuated to confer standing on any and all voters’,” reports The Associated Press. Berg – “a lifelong Democrat” and a former chairman of the Democratic Party in Montgomery, PA, by the way – anticipated this outcome, and vows to take the case to Third Circuit Court of Appeals or the Supreme Court “depending on the timing.” Berg thinks it’s important to pursue until all legal avenues have been exhausted to “make sure the U.S. Constitution – the most important document in our country – is followed, whereas Barack Obama is trying to destroy it. … It’s a disgrace to all the voters, to all the citizens of our country, but more important, to the 18 million people that have voted for Obama and to the people in this country who contributed more than $425 million … that’s the bigger disgrace and Obama owes them a huge explanation:

These two versions of the same report seem clear enough. The birth certificate is on file in Hawaii and it is valid.
However, the opponents of Obama simply will not give up. I have seen one Web comment that went along these lines: "It could have been a valid Kenyan birth certificate on file in Hawaii that the Hawaii official was talking about."
Laughable, of course, why would a Kenyan birth certificate be filed in Hawaii?

The Stiletto was going to post this under "The Other Shoe Drops" on Monday, but appreciates your saving her the trouble. There were several issues surrounding Obama's birth and early life in Indonesia, but they have all been debunked. He is a natural born citizen according to all the applicable laws. Of course, none of this makes him qualified for the job he seeks, but that's a matter for the electorate to decide.
