The point is, though, that - and it’s not just charity, it’s not just that I want to help the middle class and working people who are trying to get in the middle class - it’s that when we actually make sure that everybody’s got a shot - when young people can all go to college, when everybody’s got decent health care, when everybody’s got a little more money at the end of the month - then guess what? Everybody starts spending that money, they decide maybe I can afford a new car, maybe I can afford a computer for my child. They can buy the products and services that businesses are selling and everybody is better off. All boats rise [emphasis, The Stiletto]. That’s what happened in the 1990s, that’s what we need to restore. And that’s what I’m gonna do as president of the
John McCain and Sarah Palin they call this socialistic. You know I don’t know when, when they decided they wanted to make a virtue out of selfishness.
No, it’s not selfish when we work hard – maybe take on a second job, or put in stretches of overtime – to save up for our kids’ college educations, for that new car or the computer. It’s selfish – and socialistic - when we sit on our asses eating bon-bons watching soap operas all day and expect other people to buy us the things we ought to be buying for ourselves with their hard-earned and high-taxed salaries.
When JFK said that “a rising tide lifts all boats” he was refuting the criticism that his tax cuts would benefit the wealthy. Yet another reason Obama is no JFK.
Speaking of selfish, why doesn’t Obama open his luxurious and spacious Chicago home (below) to all those Kenyan relatives of his (second item) who are living in abject poverty on two continents? He can certainly afford to feed and clothe them – their entire villages, too - and make sure they have decent health care.
McCain-Palin supporters are selfish? You gotta say this about Obama, the guy sure has chutzpah.
I would like to add, Hussein should reimburse the taxpayers for monies spent to support his Aunt. You know, spread the wealth around. This guy is going to lose more than anyone will actually report.
