WHAT A HEEL: Campus Cop Pilfers Pastries

Sgt. Steve Brody, 55, of the Morrisville State College University Police was in the habit of stopping off at the Valero Nice N Easy to buy a newspaper and pick up a cup of coffee, which the convenience store gave to any police officer in uniform for free. On at least 17 occasions, surveillance video also captured images of him secreting Tastykake pastries in the paper or his shirt and he was ticketed for petit larceny, reports The Post-Standard (Syracuse, NY). At $1.29 each plus tax, the 21 pastries he stole are valued at $29.
