WHAT A HEEL: Untrustworthy Trustee

Former Whitworth College (Spokane, WA) trustee Tom Delanty, 52, was convicted of bilking Nancy Huegli, 92, out of $150,000 while he worked as her financial adviser from 2000 to 2005, reports The Seattle Times. A King County Superior Court jury found Delanty guilty of 26 out of 28 counts of  first- and second-degree theft. According to prosecutors, Delanty charged Huegli $125 an hour to help her with household tasks and paying bills, began writing checks to himself from her accounts for services he purportedly performed, and forged documents to back up his claims. Delanty had contended that Huegli gifted the missing money to him.
