ON THE CUTTING EDGE: Life Imitates ST:TNG
At the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Mattel Inc. debuted Mind Flex, a game that is right out of ST:TNG. According to The Associated Press, players wear a “brain-scanning head set” with which they can levitate a ball through sheer concentration; the ball will drop when the player’s thoughts relax. Skilled players will be able to “guide the ball through an obstacle course of hoops.” Mind Flex is expected to be on store shelves in time for next Christmas, and will sell for $80.
