WHAT HEELS: CT Judge, Christian Bale Need Mouths Washed Out With Soap
Superior Court Judge E. Curtissa Cofield, 60, let loose a string of cusswords and racial epithets at a police officer trying to process her on a drunken driving charge in Glastonbury, CT, last October and now the state's Judicial Review Council has scheduled a hearing to determine whether she committed judicial misconduct, reports The Hartford Courant. The council acted after viewing this police tape, in which Cofield addressed Sgt. Dwight Washington as “Negro trooper” and referred to him as “the head n****r”:
According to the police report at about 10:45 p.m. on October 9th Cofield sideswiped a parked state police cruiser as she drove through a highway construction zone. The D.A.’s office says her eyes were bloodshot, she smelled of alcohol and two urine tests showed her alcohol level was twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent. Even if the Judicial Review Council does not recommend Cofield’s removal from the bench, state legislators may be able to oust her.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated case of bad behavior, actor Christian Bale unleashed a torrent of obscenities on the set of Terminator Salvation last summer, reports Greg Sandoval of CNET News:
An audio recording of the tirade has gone viral and is rapidly spreading on the Web. According to reports, it is Bale's voice lashing out at the DP for walking into his line of sight during filming.
"I want you off the (expletive) set, you (expletive)," Bale says. "Think for one (expletive) second. What the (expletive) are you doing? Are you a professional or not?"
At one point, Bale threatens the [director of photography], whose job it is to make Bale look good, with violence.
Bale, who was once accused of assaulting his mother and sister, sounds like he needs a vacation. If this thing plays out like it has with other stars, he may get one. Film and TV fans want to believe that their screen gods are, well, nice people. If that illusion is shattered, then they often don't want to pay to see that actor's movies or shows. (I remember a time when all it took to wreck an actor's career was booze and drugs).
Here is a YouTube video of the tirade; Bale drops more F-bombs than Diddy.
