WHAT A HEEL: Robbing St. Paul’s To Pay Plastic Surgeon
Rev. William Blasingame, 66, who had been pastor of St. Paul's Memorial Episcopal Church for more than 30 years, was arrested on charges of felony grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property for allegedly pilfering $84,537 from church funds to get plastic surgery, Botox injections, prescription drugs and fancy duds, reports the Staten Island Advance. According to the Advance:
Father Blasingame manipulated the church's bank accounts to pocket money from … the Friends of St. Paul's foundation, which was established to fund the maintenance, upkeep and beautification of the church grounds, and a discretionary fund he oversaw that was meant to provide small stipends to parishioners in need.
If convicted on both counts, Father Blasingame could face up to 15 years in prison.
