WHAT A HEEL: Child Advocate Victimizes Abused Children

Patricia Ann Miller, 44, former executive director of the First Witness Child Abuse Resource Center in Duluth, MN, was sentenced to more than two years in prison for defrauding the nonprofit and the child abuse victims it serves out of $120,000, reports The Associated Press. First Witness supports agencies that investigate, assesses, prosecute and treat children who report abuse. She was also sentenced to three years supervised release, and ordered to pay restitution. As the executive director, Miller’s job was to further its vision “of a society that supports children and ends child abuse.”
