NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: You Deserve A Break Today, So Get Up And Get Away …

Insisting that “[t]here is no shoe to drop,” Sarah Palin’s personal attorney, Thomas Van Flein tells CNN that she resigned 18 months before the end of her first term as AK governor because she needed a break after being "on duty now for two and a half years solid." [Emphasis, The Stiletto.]

Who’d a thunk that Palin’s erstwhile running mate John McCain – whose Congressional career started when he was a year older than Palin is now – would have more stamina?

Yes, the last 10 of those 30 months that Palin has been “on duty” have been punishing but not exponentially more brutal than what former president George W. Bush - and his family – endured stoically for 98 months (if you include the two months before Inauguration Day 2001).

Well I sure hope Sarah corrects Van Flein if she has any expectations of seeking office in the future. You don't quit what you know going in is a four year job because it's been two years. That reason goes over as well as the old Boniva commerical where Sally Field (?) used it because her old regimen required her to "set aside time in her busy schedule" to pop a pill once a week. (Gee, life is hard.) I'm thinking that wasn't why she resigned but she will have to speak to that question if ever she runs again.
